‘A tie with the past’ is an urgent necessity to understand the present, hopefully with irony and clarity of mind. Polystyrene bricks symbolising classical culture are crossed by wool threads, a reference to the artist Christo (b. 1935) and, in their colour, Yves Klein (1928–62). This is at the same time a playful representation of the continuity of art history and a homage to the airy weavings of Maria Lai (1919–2013), internationally recognised as one of the most relevant female artists of the 20th century.’ Paolo Genta Ternavasio Architect for Burzio, stand 167, Tefaf Maastricht 2020.
