Vizzo
A VERY FINE ITALIAN NEOCLASSICAL PARCEL-GILT AND LACQUERED CHINOISERIE TRAY TABLE
COMPOSED BY AN EARLIER REMOVABLE TRAY TOP ATTRIBUTETED TO VIZZO, DEPICTING A TEA CEREMONY SCENE, WITH FIGURES IN EXOTIC DRESSES, PAGODAS, WHOLE LAVISHLY DECORATED IN POLYCHROMY WITH GOLD CHINOISERIE ON A DARK BROWN GROUND, ABOVE A GILT WOOD FRIEZE AND A CARVED APRON WITH FOLIATES, FLOWERS AND SCROLLS, DIFFERENT ORNAMENTS LIKE PARASOLS, A BED AND A BRIDGE, ON SQUARE TAPERING LEGS WITH FLORAL PAINTED SPRAYS. THE STAND WAS EXPRESSLY MADE FOR THE TRAY THIRTY YEARS LATER.
