A pair of Louis XV ormolu-mounted candlesticks

EACH WITH ASYMMETRICALLY-CAST URN-SHAPED NOZZLE AND FOLIATE SCROLLED STEM, FANKED BY A PLAYFUL PUTTO ON A CHANNELLED ROCKWORK CSCROLL AND FOLIATE-CAST SHAPED SPREADING BASE, ORIGINALLY WITH DRIP-PANS.

This model is supposed to be created by Meissonier for a royal event, the birth of the third Louis XV daughter Marie Louise and Maria Lezinska, the 28 July 1728.
